Our History
Originally founded through the vision and dedication of Antonio Prado Velez, Manuel Aguilar Montes, and Eduardo Gallardo Penagos, we began operations on November 5, 1965, at our historic first location on 6a. Avenida 6-00, Zone 4.
The company was originally created with a focus on distributing veterinary medications. Over time, identifying a strong demand in the country’s healthcare market, the business began expanding into the procurement of medications for human use.
In 1972, under the name Agencia Refasa, we dedicated ourselves exclusively to the distribution of medications for human use. In those early years, the founders’ priority was not focused on marketing strategies, but on high financial responsibility:honoring every debt, building with discipline, and reinvesting with faith. That culture of transparency remains with us to this day and is reflected in our visual identity.
The year 1976 marked a fundamental milestone in our evolution when Droguería Refasa S.A. was created and began operations at 2da. Calle 3-75, Zone 1.
